Habitat Creation
Creating habitat for different birds that visit site.
Wednesday 24th January saw us start looking at creating extra habitat for some of the birds and Insects we have on site.
The idea is to plant crops that will provide food over the winter, broad leafed plants for chicks during the breeding season and also nesting sites for ground nesting birds.
Its not all about birds though we are going to put in some plants that will provide pollen for the insects.
The part of site we are working on is banked on either side so locally we call it the gulley it is a quiet area as it is between two pylons.
So far we have surveyed the area and cleared some of what we need to see what we are up against.
We have mapped where we are adding the plants and come up with a plan to follow.
