Able2Build Project
Able2Build provides training in construction skills to the long-term unemployed and disadvantaged young people.
Able2Build trainees gain experience and confidence in a work environment while developing skills in sustainable building. Most Able2Build trainees come on 6 month placements and are now permanently placed at the ABLE Kirklees site.
ABLE Kirklees
Work on the new ABLE Project in Heckmondwike (ABLE 2 Kirklees) started in February 2011 and the Able2Build trainees harnessed their new construction skills on the £1.25 million build project.
The project and the ABLE Kirklees site has been such a success that Able2Build has now moved permanently to the new site at Heckmondwike where they are continuing their project by building a floating park-cafe and disability BMX track.
