Market Day is Here!

Snakes in the Grass
At the ABLE project we are proud of the wildlife that our site attracts and at this time every year we start to get sightings of one of our most exciting residents.
For some they send a shiver down the spine for others sheer excitement takes hold, whichever it is our resident grass snakes always provoke a reaction.

Winter Wonderland
You may think that with the severe onset of winter, most of our wildlife would now be holed up hibernating or sunning itself in warmer climates. While this is true of many species, some choose to tough it out, staying awake and active all winter long. The ABLE Project welcomed a group of 13 education professionals from 10 European countries for a day visit at the end of October 2010. The visitors enjoyed a tour and insights into some of the activities we use on site with our younger visitors. -

BMX Highriders Funding Success!
A cycling project that offers challenging physical activities for disabled youngsters is celebrating success in the latest round of awards from the Big Lottery Fund's Awards for All programme. The scheme will be run by ABLE. -

Summer School Success
This season, ABLE's summer school as been a resounding success, with young people and adults attending a variety of activity days each week. -
ABLE wins £50,000 Biffaward Funding
ABLE has received £50,000 funding towards its biodiversity work on the Wakefield site. The Biffaward money will help fund over 200 bird boxes, a wetland and bird hide.
