ABLE wins £50,000 Biffaward Funding
ABLE has received £50,000 funding towards its biodiversity work on the Wakefield site. The Biffaward money will help fund over 200 bird boxes, a wetland and bird hide.

Encouraging biodiversity is core to the philosophy of the ABLE project and the regeneration of our former landfill site.
Recognising this commitment, Biffaward granted us £50,000 in June 2010 to develop a series of 'wildlife amenity zones'.
We have now begun work with our young people to create an exemplar and enjoyable wildlife resource at the fringe of Wakefield City Centre.
Biffaward is managed by the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts (RSWT), which utilises landfill tax credits donated by Biffa Waste Services. Since 1997, Biffaward has awarded over £100 million in funding to hundreds of environmental and community projects across the UK.
