Added: Feb 24, 09:26 AM

HRH Princess Anne visited the GBN’s ABLE Project on 23 January to see first hand how the innovative project is helping disadvantaged people in the area.

The Princess Royal was given a guided tour of the ABLE site and met some of the young people who have benefited from opportunities on the site. HRH also viewed future plans to develop a network of ABLE projects. Representatives from Rotherham, Kirklees, Todmorden and Hull were all on hand to explain the future plans to the Princess with colourful displays presenting photographs and artist impressions of the new project sites.

Project Manager Graham Wiles commented: “HRH The Princess Royal has seen first hand how social enterprise in Yorkshire is at the leading edge of emerging green technologies, but used in an innovative way to benefit disadvantaged groups”.
