Vegetables Galore!
Added: Dec 9, 03:02 PMThe vegetables that the workers from the probation service have planted are coming up left, right and centre and we have more courgettes than we know what to do with! Luckily we have outlets for our produce with Catering Plus, a local social enterprise who now provide all the catering for Castleford Hospital, with any excess going through the probation service to one of their contacts at Wakefield Hospice. So, the produce is all going to a good and worthwhile home, with plenty of cucumbers and tomatoes complementing the lunches of our staff, volunteers and young people here on site. The workers coming on site and carrying out community service orders have also created a beautiful entrance garden at the allotment site which really lifts the landscape.
